Question of the Day resource to get students thinking about their independent living and related postsecondary goals all year-round.
These daily questions will introduce independent living, life skills, recreation and leisure, and navigating the community ideas to students. This discussion and reflection is integral to learning how to self-advocate for what they need, getting to know their interests & preferences, and think about life after high school.
This resource is focused on meeting students where they are, may be interested in now or later, and help them think ahead about the future.
Ideas for use: warm-up, morning meeting, transition activity, early finisher, small group, 1:1, whole class, and of course, life skills lessons, use as an informal interest inventory to inform the individualized transition plan (ITP) and IEP.
Across ages and support needs: Can be used with middle and high school students across ages, support needs, and abilities. We’ve included visuals for students who need more support as well as differentiated reflection worksheets.
