This National Native American Heritage Month resource gives your students a chance to read about famous and influential women across history, all while practicing reading comprehension.
We’ve included 10 different short biographies on a diverse group of 10 indigenous leaders across vocational areas, interests, and history.
Research around literacy supports students getting repetition and multiple opportunities to access the text. We’ve also included images for students to engage with the text in multiple ways.
Ideas for use: warm-up, morning meeting, transition activity, early finisher, small group, 1:1, whole class, and of course, reading comprehension + literacy lessons.
You can email us at hello@autismgrownup.com if you have any feedback, questions, and/or requests for resources.
