This social story - When I'm Angry About Something - addresses what to do when you're angry about something - whether it didn't go your way or something unexpected happened. There are a lot of challenging behaviors that arise with being angry, so this social story is a proactive approach and strategy about what to do when we're angry.
The booklet helps our students navigate boundaries with others and give them the tools and options they need for reference - that their feelings are valid, what they can do, and self-advocacy in the mix.
Social stories are an evidence-based practice in autism and special education, and are effective and efficient at showing clear guidelines through a visual support.
Who needs another task to add to their workload? Not you! It can take a lot of extra time to have to create your own social story every time you need one for your student, but we take out the guesswork and save you a lot of time with this social story. And if you need to make adjustment to this social story, you totally can! It's EDITABLE!
The social stories from Autism Grown Up specifically focus on the learner experience, and how they can meet their goals.
